About Kingsbury Academy of Dance
The Kingsbury Academy of Dance is a place where all students of all ages can learn to dance, make new friends, have fun and feel comfortable. We offer a varied dance program, designed to suit children of a wide range of abilities and ages wishing to access good dance education and training.
Classes provide the best learning opportunities for students in ballet, tap, modern, street dance, musical theatre, stage and gymnastics.
The Kingsbury Academy of Dance aims to ensure the highest quality teaching by its teachers attending teacher training, support and continuing professional development.
The Aim
The Kingsbury Academy of Dance stage and annual recital as well as conducting official BBO examinations. Children are entered for exams once they have reached the required age and standard which is dependent in individual ability and attendance.
A fee is incurred for exams and amount depends on the level and style of exam. Annual award ceremonies are given at the end of the academic year, with the giving of formal certificates, medals and trophies for exams, 'dancer of the year', 'most improved dancer of the year', 'attendance of the year' and 'most helpful dancer of the year' Awards.
Class Times, Attendance & Fees:
Children enrolled from 2 1/2 years.
Classes are throughout the week. You will be advised of the appropriate classes for your child when you enroll. In order to take part in exams or annually staged presentations, classes must be attended regularly.
Term Dates
The New Term Starts: Saturday 4th September 2010
The Term Finishes: Saturday Friday 24th June 2011
Fees - Ballet, Tap and Modern:
All fees are to be paid within one week of receipt of bill. Fees cover 2 months of classes. A charge of 2 euro will be added weekly for late payment. Fees are paid directly to Kingsbury Academy of Dance and are non- refundable. 1 months notice is required if a student decides to leave. Fees to be paid in an envelope with your name printed clearly. A receipt will be provided upon payment.
Musical Theatre and Street Dance
10 euros must be paid for your first class then 5 euros single payment after this for each class. Your child will not be allowed to participate if they do not provide payment at the beginning of the class.
Location
The Kingsbury Academy of Dance has two studios and classes take part in both studios. The walls are sound proof to ensure that noise levels do not effect the classes taking place. Both studios are purpose built and very spacious to allow your children to train without injury to their delicate joints. As part of health and safety standards we have a fully sprung wooden floor, mirrored walls and ballet barres. There are secure changing facilities and toilets and a study room for children to work quietly for self study time.
Scholarship Programme
Successful scholars chosen will be given a 1 hr class & either of classical ballet/ Tap dance non syllabus work either/ or Repertoire per week covering the school year (September to June). The scholarship scheme is a special and exclusive training program and winners will have their scholarship classes absolutely free! The extra training will give yourselves improved examination grades special performances on stage and will give you that winning edge when auditioning for vocational schools and your career.
